The German-Jordanian Society e. V. is announcing a photo competition focusing on water as its central theme.
Water is a fundamental element of human life. Its absence, just as much as its presence, has a direct impact on lifestyles, infrastructure, everyday practices, and visions of the future.
Water is both a prerequisite for all our lives; yet water — when it manifests with uncontrolled power — can also pose a threat to our very foundations of life.
Water must be highlighted as a topic of existential importance in both Jordan and Germany.
Within a transcultural framework, the theme of “water” offers the opportunity to put forward both analogies and differences in experiences, solutions, and perceptions with regard to a Jordanian and a German perspectivea .
With this photo contest, the DJG aims to bring a socially relevant topic to the forefront, to strengthen the exchange between members and others interested in the relationship between Jordan and Germany, and at the same time to create a platform for creative engagement with issues of the environment, everyday life, and the future across national borders.
