The German-Jordanian Society e. V. is announcing a photo contest centered on water as its central theme.

Water is a fundamental element of human life. Its absence, just as much as its presence, has a direct impact on lifestyles, infrastructure, everyday practices, and visions of the future.

Water is both a prerequisite for all our lives; yet, when manifesting with uncontrolled force, it can also pose a threat to our very foundations of life.

Water must be highlighted as a topic of existential importance in both Jordan and Germany.

Within a transcultural framework, the theme of “water” offers the opportunity to put forward both analogies and differences in experiences, solutions, and perceptions from Jordanian and German perspectives.

With this photo contest, the DJG aims to bring a socially relevant topic to the forefront, to strengthen exchange among members and other persons interested in the relationship between Jordan and Germany, and to simultaneously create a platform across national borders for

creative engagement with issues of the environment, everyday life, and the future.
